Families and Children
I work with families, teens, and children virtually.
I help families with:
Conflict resolution
Dynamic issues
Challenging behaviors
Attachment
Improving effective communication
Parenting strategies
Traumatic experiences
Parenting neurodivergent and autistic children
Teens (12+)
I help teens:
Process difficult experiences
Build relational skills
Improve mental health challenges (anxiety, depression, trauma, and more)
Teens 12+ can see me individually online. Depending on the needs and circumstances of treatment, parents may be included. This will be discussed with the teen and family at the beginning of treatment. I use EMDR, expressive arts therapy, and psychodynamic therapy with teens.
Children (11 and under)
With Children I only work with parents highly involved in treatment. This can look like attending sessions together in addition to separate parent meetings. Children are often highly impacted by their parents involvement, and many mental health and behavioral challenges can be resolved with parent coaching and strategies. Children with trauma histories or behavioral challenges may also need specific kinds of parental support to help them heal through these experiences. I help parents help their children heal.
The age of the child and level of treatment needs will determine how extensive parental support is required in treatment.
I use EMDR, expressive arts therapy, and structural family therapy when helping families and children virtually.

That depends on the treatment needs of your child. This will be determined at the beginning of treatment, and I will always be transparent about expectations.

If your child is 11 and under, I require parental involvement. This is because younger children and their psychology is highly dependent on the participation, attachment, and support of their parents. Many symptoms and challenges can be resolved with changes in parental support and behavior. If you are seeking EMDR for your child 11 and under, I will require that you are involved.

That depends on the teens needs. Often if there are behavioral challenges, there are things parents can do to help improve them. I often include parent coaching for teen treatment because even though they aren’t children anymore, they still need parental support, especially through traumatic or mental heal challenges.
